The Italian foreign Ministry denied that Rome was involved in a deal to exchange Israeli captives and Lebanese prisoners, as Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah earlier claimed, according to Italian news agency ANSA.
A statement released by the Italian foreign ministry said that "there is nothing new since the last comments of the foreign minister, Massimo D'Alema, a few days ago." D'Alema said Italy was not involved in secret contacts between Israel and Hizbullah. (Nir Magal)
