PM: 2 inquiry committees on Lebanon war
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, in his speech to leaders of Haifa regional authorities, said that two inquiry committees would investigate the second Lebanon war. The first, headed by former IDF Chief of Staff Amnon Lipkin-Shahak, will investigate the military’s role.
The second, headed by former Chief of the Mossad Nahum Admoni, and containing former Maj. Gen Yedidia Ya’ari and Professors of Law Ruth Gabison and Yehzkel Dror, will investigate the political echelon. The state comptroller is investigating the situation concurrently, with a focus on the home front. (Ronny Sofer)
