Campaign: Politicians to suffer divine punishment

New campaign will send out flyers featuring photos of key figures in country's leadership during disengagement stating 'this is sin (the disengagement) and this is its punishment'

A campaign titled "There's the judgment and there's the judge" will be broadcast across the country through media outlets, on the streets, in flyers, and in synagogues by an organization called SOS Israel.

The leaflets feature photos of key figures in the country's leadership during the time of the disengagement and during these days. The organization told Ynet: "This is the sin (the disengagement) and this is its punishment."

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon with his son Omri, President Moshe Katsav, Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Dan Halutz, Police Commissioner Moshe Karadi, former Justice Minister Haim Ramon, former Minister Tzachi Hanegbi and the Chief Administrator of the disengagement Yonatan Bashi all appear in the leaflet. There is also an empty space with no picture, with the words: "To be continued…"

Current events - punishment for disengagement?

The members of the organization will send the flyers out by email in the upcoming days to all Knesset Members, along with the following:

"We started a campaign on the operation that led to a great disaster, as clarified by the Head of General Security Services (Shin Bet) Yuval Diskin. We are calling on you, for the love of Israel – from now on, do not carry out anymore unnecessary such disengagements and concessions so that we would not have to create another campaign of 'There's the judgment and there's the judge'."

Sources from the organization explained to Ynet the meaning of the slogan: "This is the sin and this is its punishment. We see today what is happening to those same people who, one year after the expulsion, as if it were a divine punishment. Everything that is happening to the heads of the State, the army, the police, it's all a punishment for the disengagement."

The Head of the organization Rabbi Shalom Dov Wolfe said: "As we all know, we are now in the month of Elul – a month of self-examination. And the national self-examination of the people of Israel today is how and why did such a disaster of the security situation take place? By rummaging through the events of the past year, we can see that whoever approved and carried out the destruction of Gush Katif and northern Samaria, thus assisting al Qaeda, Iran and the Hizbullah, is punished by God, including the president who during the disengagement remained quiet and called on the settlers to leave their homes.

"All the leaders on Israel must understand that if ever they continue down the same path of disengagements and concessions, they have yet to be judged, and our campaign is a red sign to all Israeli politicians."
