4 knives removed from woman’s stomach
Woman arrives at Jerusalem hospital complaining of ‘severe stomach ache’. Doctors shocked when X-rays show 4 large kitchen knives in her abdomen
Dr. Vadim Machin, who treated the woman in the emergency room, ordered immediate Roentgen x-rays. Doctors were shocked by the results, which showed four knives – 2, 3, 4.5 inches long – in her abdomen.

The woman was rushed to the operating room, where senior surgeon Dr. Vladimir Michalovsky successfully operated on her to remove the blades.
Dr. Michalovsky described the incident to Ynet: “The woman came to the hospital on her own after she understood that what she had done endangered he life. When we examined here there was no internal bleeding. The situation could have been extremely dangerous as the knives could have sliced through blood vessels.”
According to the doctor, the woman swallowed the knives intentionally.
“She understood that it could endanger her life.
When the woman arrived at the hospital she said she had swallowed one knife, but the Roentgen x-rays revealed four relatively large and sharp kitchen knives (in her stomach). If she had not been treated immediately, severe complications could have arisen.”
“We decided immediately to operate and therefore there were no complication. After the surgery she is in fine condition,” he said, adding, “I have only ever seen such a thing as knife swallowing in the circus.”
