Peretz cronies: Finance Ministry bought out Labor ministers

Published: 09.13.06, 00:30 / Israel News

Defense Minister Amir Peretz claimed that his party had agreed to oppose an attempt to delay an increase of minimum wage to December 2007. This afternoon, he said, finance ministry sources convinced Labor ministers to accept the budget by "giving prostitute's fees to various ministries."

Close associates of Peretz added that "Peretz warned the prime minister that he would vote against the budget and that the days of the government were numbered if he didn't increase minimum wage as was decided in the coalition agreements." (Ronny Sofer)
