In preparation for the holidays, the police are raising the level of alert throughout Israel in fear of terrorist attacks. Police Chief Moshe Karadi said Monday that the police have received warnings of the intention of terrorist organizations to carry out attacks during the holidays, and the police are preparedly accordingly.
On the night of Rosh Hashanah, the police will be on the highest possible alert level throughout the country. Policemen will be in full operational deployment. The police will operate in a number of concentric zones, from the seam line to areas within the country.
Thousands of policemen, border police, and civil guard volunteers, along with the aid of Israel Defense Forces soldiers, will take part in the deployment that will focus on the morning of the holiday in markets and cemeteries, and throughout the holiday at synagogues, vacation spots, parks, and civilian entertainment spots. The security activities will be reinforced and stationed at mobile checkpoints and entrances to cities.
Civil guard volunteers will be incorporated into security missions in synagogues throughout the country while intensively acting to prevent the entrance of illegal Palestinian aliens into Israel.
