Next Northern Command chief: Gadi Eisenkot

Defense Minister Amir Peretz approved the recommendation of Chief of Staff Dan Halutz to nominate Major General Gadi Eisenkot, head of the IDF's Operations Directorate, to be the next commander of the IDF's Northern Command.
Eisenkot will replace Major General Udi Adam who announced his retirement form service. (Hanan Greenberg)
