Report: France's Socialist leader will not seek party's presidential nomination

None

France's Socialist leader will not seek to run in next year's presidential elections, leaving less competition for poll favorite - and his romantic partner - Segolene Royal, a newspaper reported Saturday.

Party chief Francois Hollande said he would formally announce his decision Tuesday, the last day for Socialist candidates to declare their intention to run in the party's November primary. "I will not be yet another candidate, because I will be at the service of my party, and not the reverse," he was

quoted by the Dauphine Libere as saying. (AP)
