Palestinians fire three rockets toward Ashkelon, Sderot; no injuries reported; three mortars fired by Palestinians land in Gaza. ‘Unearthing of weapons-smuggling tunnels and IDF’s activity in area not enough to stop Qassam attacks,’ Sderot resident says

This morning Palestinians fired three Qassam rockets and five mortar shells at Israeli communities. The first hit around 6:00 a.m., near a strategic installation in Ashkelon, and damaged the road there.
Last week Palestinians claimed to have fired two rockets towards Ashkelon, but they apparently fell into the ocean.
At around 7:30 a.m., two more rockets were fired at Sderot and landed in open areas – one within the town limits, and the other outside the town. The blasts sowed fear among the residents, as the attacks occurred as hundreds of children are on their way to school or outside waiting for buses.
Security forces assessed that the timing was intentional.
Immediately ensuing the attacks, dozens of residents arrived at the scene and launched an impromptu protest, calling on the IDF and the government to do more against the rocket threat.
Last Friday as well, Palestinians fired two rockets at Sderot, wounding three people.
