Amir family: God willing – baby in 9 months
Amitai Amir, brother of prime minister's assassin convinced that conjugal visit was 'conducted in humiliating fashion,' but is happy for opportunity given to his brother. Also thinks anniversary of assassination is good time to discuss two brothers' conditions
Much joy in the Amir household after the conjugal visit
between Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin's assassin Yigal Amir and his wife Larissa Trimbobler Tuesday. Amir's younger brother Amitai says that with God's help, in nine months the son of the two will be brought to the covenant of Abraham.
The brother added that "despite the joy, we believe that this is only temporary pause from the persecution of my brothers." According to him, the way the conjugal visit was conducted was "humiliating."
The Amir family is hoping that the source of the next joyful moment will come from Amir's brother Hagai when he finds a bride for himself as well. "My hope is that during this year we will be able to marry Hagai as well. It's about time that one-third of his sentence will be taken off and he will be treated as any other prisoner," Amitai said.
The brother also finds a connection between the conjugal visit and the 11 year anniversary of Rabin's murder: "It's about time that after 11 years there will be a serious change in the condition of the Amir brothers. This is a gift from God that despite the evil forces trying to prevent the conjugal visit, he said."
