New service makes cell phones 'uniquely Jewish'

MazelMobile sends subscribers daily text message containing important Jewish dates, Jewish humor, wisdom and information directly to their cell phones

A new content service for mobile phones, MazelMobile, aims to make users' cell phone "more Jewish," according to Evan Lazarus, president of technology company Lazbro Inc, which launched the service.

Jewswire.com reported that MazelMobile sends subscribers a daily text message containing important Jewish dates, Jewish humor, wisdom and information directly to their cell phones.

The service also gives users access to a range of Jewish background wallpapers, logos and ringtones.

The service does not require subscribers to own a ‘smart-phone,’ and any standard cell phone that's able to do text messaging (SMS) will be able to use MazelMobile.

The company also declared that in line with its commitment to community building, it will give USD 1 per subscriber back to Jewish organizations that resell its services via their affiliate program.

“Organizations, synagogues, and charities can sign up for a MazelMobile.com affiliate number, and instantly create their own fund-raising program,” says Mr. Lazarus.

“The mobile entertainment market has seen incredible growth over the last year,” he adds. “We felt it was time to give the cell phones of the Jewish community a distinctively Jewish identity. At the same time I could give something back to my own community through the mobile Tzedakah program.”
