Syria denies charges of coup attempt

The Syrian embassy in the United States has denied the reports by the US administration that it is planning, in cooperation with Iran and Hizbullah, to topple the Lebanese government. "The statements of the White House are ridiculous," the statement read.
Earlier, White House Spokesman Tony Snow said that the White House is in possession of evidence that Syria is planning a coup to topple the government of Fuad Siniora. (AFP)
