ELOP to sell laser systems to German army

Elbit's spin-off ELOP wins tender to sell laser systems for target identification to German army in USD 5 million deal

ELOP Ltd., a daughter company of Elbit Systems, won a tender from the German government to sell laser systems and thermal binoculars for the German army for USD 5 million.

 

The sale comprised heavy and light equipment for use by land forces. The devices can be carried by soldiers and are designed for heavy duty.

 

A similar system was sold to the US Marines.

 

"Our win of the tender from the German army strengthens our position as world leaders in the field evolving field of laser for military uses and internal security," ELOP CEO Haim Rousso said.

 

"Germany is a key country in NATO and we hope this deal will bring about orders from potential customers from across the globe."

 

In September, ELOP sold USD 130 million worth of electronic systems to an unnamed army.
