Minister for Strategic Affairs Avigdor Lieberman said in response to rocket attacks onSderot Wednesday that Israel should target Hamas and Islamic Jihad heads.
"We need to target them personally and to destroy every building and area which is identified with terror groups, and to avoid as much as possible harming innocent civilians," he said.
Knesset members from the Right slammed the government’s conduct regarding the incessant Qassam fire.
MK Limor Livnat (Likud) said, “What happened in Sderot today is proof that there is no diplomatic or military leadership in Israel, and we are facing one of the toughest periods in our history with half of the government visiting Los Angeles.”
Fellow Likudnik Danny Naveh said, “Each day that goes by without a more extensive operation creates the feeling that Sderot is treated differently than Tel Aviv.
“Israel will pay an even heavier price in human lives if we don’t act immediately,” he said.
'Lebanon war will seem like child splay'
MK Yitzhak Levy of National-Union-NRP said the residents of Sderot “are paying with their lives for the security-related neglect of the Gaza disengagement and for the government’s hesitation regarding the Qassam fire.”
MK Zvi Hendel, also of National-Union-NRP, added that, “It seems that only a rocket on Tel Aviv will prompt the prime minister to take Gaza over. It has been proven once more that the blood of Israelis in certain parts of the country does not warrant military action.
“Should the government’s neglect continue, the Lebanon war will seem like child splay,” he concluded.
