A member of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, Fatah’s armed wing, was killed by IDF forces operating in Jenin Wednesday evening.

Palestinian sources said the activist, Shadi el-Amor, was shot dead during a gun battle between members of various Palestinian groups and IDF troops who arrived to detain Ashraf al-Saadi, commander of Islamic Jihad’s armed wing in Jenin.

During the attempted arrest Saadi sustained moderate to serious injuries.

During the evening hours IDF forces conducted raids on several homes belonging to Islamic Jihad commanders and activists; the troops searched the home of the group’s political representative, Mahmoud Saadi.
