Palestinian official: US knows situation in Israel is source of Mideast instability

Palestinian Deputy Parliament Speaker, Dr. Hassan Kharisha described a report on the situation in Iraq by the Baker-Hamilton commission as "very important."
"The Americans understood that the source of conflict in the region is the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and there is a need to solve it, if the American administration wants a real change in the Middle East," he said. But he said the Palestinian have learnt to be wary of optimistic signals emanating from Washington. (Ali Waked)
