Early Wednesday morning police arrested another suspect in the murder of 13 year-old girl Tair Rada from the northern town of Katzrin.
The suspect, 29 year-old Roman Zadorov, was brought Wednesday morning before Akko's Magistrate Court, and his arrest was extended by eight days.
Zadorov worked as a construction worker in Rada's high school. Before entering the courtroom he told reporters that he was innocent, yelling: "It wasn't me, it wasn't me."
The police argued before the court that they needed to hold him for a few more days in order to reinforce and support their suspicions, and to complete the investigation of the suspect.
Outside of the courtroom Zadarov's wife was waiting, pale in the face. She refused to comment on the matter.
The suspect's attorney, Arieh Hermelin, said that he did not receive any information regarding the details of the investigation, and that it was all filed to the court as a confidential report.
Hermelin says that his client claims that he is completely innocent and had nothing to do with the matter: "He was working that day in the school's storeroom just like tens of other people who were working at the site; I don’t see why the police numbered him out specifically."
Zadorov is the third suspect to be arrested for this heinous high school murder. The two previous suspects have been released and the police clarified that they had nothing to do with the murder.
Tuesday night it was reported that many leads are still being investigated, and that one of the difficulties the police had to face is the fact that most of their potential witnesses which have been questioned are Rada's schoolmates, aged 13 and under.
A few investigation teams are working simultaneously in an attempt to find the killer.
Wednesday morning the Rada family's seven day mourning period came to an end.
Tair's parents, Shmuel and Ilana, and older brothers Roee and Ehud paid their last respects at the fresh gravesite, joined by hundreds of Katzrin residents in a memorial ceremony at the Katzrin cemetery.
On Thursday Tair's school will hold a special "torch parade" and a ceremony in her memory. All the school's students will take part in the ceremony, along with the local leadership in the Golan and the educational staff.
The journey will leave from Nofei Golan, Tair's high school, and continue to Kaztrin's main street, passing through Tair's family's street as well.
