PM: No letter received from Syria

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's office denied reports of a new Syrian offer for peace on Tuesday, clarifying that no letter had been received in Jerusalem from Syrian President Bashar Assad through German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier or anyone else.
Earlier Tuesday the Al-Arabiya TV network reported that Assad had sent a letter to Olmert, calling for a renewal of negotiations between the two countries. (Ronny Sofer)
