Harvard University, one of the top ranked universities in the world, will allow students to study abroad in Israel, according to Government Secretary Yisrael Maimon.
Maimon serves as chairman of the steering committee of the MASA Project, a joint project of the Israeli government and the Jewish Agency.
MASA brings thousands of young Jews to Israel every year, to acquaint them with the country, to help them learn Hebrew and familiarize themselves more with Judaism, and in general to encourage their connection to their Jewish heritage.
Maimon revealed that Harvard University recently established a new program, in conjunction with Hebrew University in Jerusalem and MASA, which will go into effect this year.
The program will allow dozens of Harvard students to study in Israel and receive formal credit from Harvard for courses done abroad.
