MP Fadlallah didn't miss his opportunity to celebrate the "victory" and hinted that the fate of Hizbullah's political opponents in Lebanon, meaning Prime Minister Fouad Siniora, will be similar.
Fadlallah called the resignation of Halutz a "natural outcome of the defeat of his army in Lebanon. The results of the war of aggression are still unfolding within the enemy entity and their influence will continue for a long time."

Among other things Fadlallah signaled to Lebanese PM Siniora's camp that their own downfall was eminent: "If the commanders of the enemy recognize the defeat and are paying the price of their failed adventure and reliance on America, there are those in Lebanon who refuse to see this truth and insist on denying the historic victory of the resistance."
"We ask the group in power (Siniora's government), which claims that it stopped the aggression against Lebanon, is this resignation the result of the policy of tears? And surrendering to what America dictates, bringing in ships of the multinational force, expropriating Hizbullah's arms and calling for the group to disarm?" asked Fadlallah.
"Or is all of this due to the bravery of the resistance against the army of the enemy? At the same time we call those who relied on the enemy to wait patiently for the repercussions, we especially mean those who rely on American assistance. Their fates will not be better than that of the commanders of the enemy who fall one after the other."
Throughout the day Hizbullah's television station al-Manar exalted in Halutz's resignation; a special video clip was prepared and the evening news opened with the anchor intoning, "Dan Halutz, the number one commander of the Israeli war on Hizbullah, has fallen.
"He fell in the eternal blow dealt by the Islamic resistance to the fourth largest army in the world and with it the American empire which gave it all its missiles and weapons and helped it logistically and politically to wipe out the resistance but it failed."
