Bush seeks USD 10.6 billion in extra aid for Afghanistan

The Bush Administration will ask the US Congress for an additional USD 10.6 billion in security and reconstruction assistance for Afghanistan, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said on Thursday.
Rice told reporters USD 8.6 billion would be dedicated to training and equipping Afghan army and police forces and USD 2 billion to reconstruction. (Reuters)
