Demonstrators in Berlin call for solidarity with Israel

Several hundred demonstrators marched to Berlin's Holocaust memorial Sunday to call for solidarity with Israel against threats from Iran's hardline president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.  Some 700 people participated, in driving rain, some carrying Israeli flags and placards demanding that the international community "defend Israel."

A group of Jewish and other organizations had organized the event to protest against Ahmadinejad's statements describing the Holocaust as a "myth" and calling for Israel to be wiped off the map. (AP)
