Shin Bet chief: 'At least 10 tunnels being dug in Gaza'
"Terror organizations are digging tunnels from Gaza towards Israel with the intention of carrying out attacks against IDF forces in the communities adjacent to the border," said Shin Bet Chief Yuval Diskin at a press briefing on Monday afternoon. "At the moment there are at least 10 tunnels being dug, in varying stages of progress."
Diskin called the Gaza-Egyptian border "one big rabbit's tunnel' and stated that in 2006 terror groups smuggled some 28 tons of standard-grade explosives into Gaza, this compared with an estimated 6 tons of explosives in 2005. (Hanan Greenberg)
