Security officials say investigating Syrian group’s claim to be holding Guy Hever

A security official told Ynet that the defense establishment was looking into a Syrian organization’s claim to be holding Guy Hever, an Israeli soldier missing since 1997.

According to the official, this is not the first time an organization has claimed to have custody of missing Israeli soldiers, and the current claim is rather “weak” to his assessment. “We are in contact with the Hever family and the families of other missing soldiers, and we accompany them the whole way,” he noted.
