Nablus: Soldier wounded in roadside bombing

Explosive device set off near troops operating in city; one soldier moderately wounded. Nablus operation ongoing since Saturday

An Israel Defense Forces soldier was moderately wounded by a roadside bomb in Nablus on Wednesday afternoon. The soldier received emergency treatment at the scene and was evacuated to a hospital for further treatment.
Another soldier sustained very light wounds and was in no need of medical treatment.
Earlier in the day, Palestinians also hurled a pipe bomb at troops, though no injuries were reported.
Shortly after the roadside bomb incident, an 18-year-old Palestinian was seriously injured by IDF fire after hurling stones at soldiers. Eyewitnesses in the city reported that more than 50 Palestinians were arrested or detained so far.
The army has been operating in Nablus since Saturday night and has so far uncovered three explosives laboratories stocked with readymade explosives, materials and equipment for manufacturing explosives, a LAW missile, military equipment, weapons and ammunition.
The IDF partially withdrew from Nablus on Monday evening but by Tuesday morning some troops had returned.
A senior military source told Ynet that the operation is not limited in time and will continue according to intelligence assessments.
On Sunday, two IDF soldiers were lightly wounded duringthe operation, while a Palestinian man was killed and a second Palestinian was wounded.
Since Sunday, forces have been faced with increasingly violent riots which have included gunfire, Molotov cocktails and rioters throwing concrete blocks from rooftops.
