Government: 2006 Lebanon conflict – a war

The Ministerial Committee for Symbols and Ceremonies decided on Monday that the armed conflict in northern Israel and Lebanon in the summer of 2006 will be considered an official 'war.'
The committee has yet to vote on a name for the war, proposals will be considered and a final ruling is expected before Memorial Day in 2007. (Ronny Sofer)
