Hamas claims responsibility for shooting Israeli

The Islamic militant Hamas group claimed responsibility on Monday for a shooting attack that wounded an Israeli civilian near the Gaza-Israel cargo crossing.''This terror attack is precisely what the new Pal. govt. refuses to condemn, thus rejecting the conditions placed upon it by the international community,'' said David Baker, an official in the prime minister's office.
The shooting came as the Norwegian deputy foreign minister, Raymond Johansen, became the first high-ranking Western official to meet with Hamas leaders since an international boycott was imposed last year. (AP)
