Italian FM denies reports of phone conversation with Haniyeh
Italy denied reports of a supposed phone conversation between Foreign Minister Massimo D’Alema and Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh.
“D’Alema sent on Friday a letter to the President of the Palestinian Authority, Abu Mazen (Mahmoud Abbas), to confirm the Italian friendship towards the Palestinian people and reiterate that the Quartet principles must remain the goals of the action of the new Palestinian Government,” the ministry said in a statement.
