Palestinian killed in gunbattle between IDF, Fatah gunmen

Israeli soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian man on Wednesday in a gunbattle in the West Bank that broke out during a search for wanted militants, Palestinian security sources and medics said.

Hospital personnel said the 22-year-old man was shot during exchanges of fire between Israel Defense Forces and Fatah gunmen in the Askar refugee camp near the city of Nablus. The security sources said the man was not one of the gunmen. There was no immediate comment from the IDF.  (Reuters)
