Naomi Blumenthal's appeal denied; faces jail
Tel Aviv district court denied former MK Naomi Blumenthal's appeal for a reduced sentence after being convicted of bribery and obstruction of justice. She was sentenced to an eight-month prison term.
"Blumenthal's actions were severe and do not justify court intervention. She denied her actions throughout the trial and tainted her faithful driver. Her punishment cannot be reduced," the courts ruling said. Blumenthal asked for a six-month stay of justice for personal reasons. (Vered Luvitch)
