Explosives found at Port of Los Angeles; no injuries
A 500-pound bomb casing and two old hand grenades were found by workers at the Port of LosAngeles, authorities said. No one was injured. A police bomb squad detonated the two grenades, authorities said.
The grenades were found Sunday among a variety of vintage, military-type explosives such as mortar rounds, said port spokeswoman Theresa Adams Lopez. The bomb casing was filled with cement, she said. Workers found them as they searched through scrap metal. (AP)
