11 injured in chase of truck thief

VIDEO - Rare footage of a truck thief who led police on a long chase before colliding with 12 cars on a highway near Petah Tikvah reached Ynet on Tuesday.

The video, taken Friday by a camera positioned on the roof of the Agdar Tower, shows the truck speeding on the hard shoulder lane to bypass congestions and then smashing into a car coming out of the outer lane.
The truck thrusts the car into other cars before smashing into the congestions. Police said 12 cars were damaged in the accident and 11 people were injured.
Before the accident, the truck broke through a police checkpoint, lightly injuring a policeman who fired several shots in the air.
The thief, Adbel Kader Nasser, 19, of Tira, has been arrested. The Tel Aviv Magistrates Court extended his remand by five days on Saturday.
