France: 73.87 turnout registered in elections

The French Interior Ministry reported that a turnout of 73.87 percent has been registered in the presidential elections, some 10 hours after the ballots were opened.
In the previous elections in 2002, the turnout stood at 58.5 percent. (AFP)
