Official: US seeking to undermine Iran’s regime from within

A top security official accused the United States Thursday of seeking to undermine Iran’s clerical regime by stoking sectarian and ethnic tensions in the country and using newspapers and non-governmental agencies toward that goal.

“A soft threat is the main plan of the US due to its incapability to launch a military operation (against Iran),” Deputy Interior Minister Mohammad Baqer Zolqadr was quoted as saying by the official IRNA news agency. (AP)
