Two mega-shows to watch this year. If all goes well, Britney Spears and the Rolling Stones will perform in Israel in September

To top the tidal wave of artists scheduled to perform in Israel during the summer, reports claim that the Rolling Stones, are expected to arrive in the fall. And if that isn't enough, you have to add Britney Spears to your schedule.

The person behind these endeavors is the producer Shuki Weiss who was burnt last year when Depeche Mode, scheduled to appear in front of 40,000 people, cancelled at the last minute as did the alternative rock band Blonde Redhead and American Idol's Kelly Clarkson, because of the Second Lebanon War.

Two successful events Weiss managed to hold last year were Roger Waters and the Black Eyed Peas. This summer he is back with Evanescence who'll perform in June in Ra'anana and Blonde Redhead in July in Tel Aviv. Now he is apparently working on the biggest possible of shows.

"Getting artists of the Stones' caliber to Israel is a logistics challenge. I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping all goes well but in this country one never knows what's going to happen next," Weiss told Ynet.

Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ron Wood and Charlie Watts will launch the Stones "Bigger Band 2007" European tour on June 5 in Belgium.
The tour will end with three shows the Stones will give in August in the UK. Following the tour, they are supposed to land in Israel.

Spears, the mother of two, had a difficult year, and she recently emerged from yet another stay at a rehab clinic to perform at the San Diego "House of Blues." It was her first appearance in three years and she is now getting ready to go on a tour which, according to reports, will include Israel.
