Russia claims not selling weapons used in Darfur

Russia has denied allegations made by Amnesty International that Moscow was violating the international embargo and was supplying the Sudanese army with weapons, knowing they were being used to attack civilians in the Darfur region.

"We honor the Security Council's resolutions prohibiting arms sales for use in Darfur," The Russian foreign ministry's statement said. (AFP)
