Will Mick Jagger come?
Organizers of the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel
A similar letter was sent last year by the same group to Roger Waters
who performed in Neveh
Shalom, as well as to other artists who visited Israel lately.
(PACBI) called on the Rolling Stones to cancel their show in Israel. In a letter sent to the band's managers and to Jewish community leaders worldwide, the organization asked the band to cancel its performance until "the time comes when it (Israel) ends its illegal occupation of Palestinian territory and respects fundamental human rights as well as the relevant precepts of international law concerning Palestinian rights to freedom, self-determination and equality."

Two mega-shows to watch this year. If all goes well, Britney Spears and the Rolling Stones will perform in Israel in September
According to the letter: "The Palestinian arts community received in disbelief media reports of your upcoming performance in Israel, at a time when Israel continues unabated with its colonial and apartheid designs to further dispossess, oppress, and ultimately ethnically cleanse Palestinians from their homeland."
Campaigners also wrote: "We all remember how leading Rolling Stones musicians played a prominent role in enforcing a cultural boycott of apartheid South Africa in the 1980s, and participated in recording the timeless song, Sun City, which had a singular influence on raising public awareness about apartheid and its injustices."
It is still unknown if the band's managers received the letter and whether it will effect their plans.
