Palestinians fired three Qassam rockets from the Gaza Strip at Israel on Monday afternoon. There were no reports of injuries.

One of the rockets landed near a gas station in the area, one hit a hothouse in a local community, starting a fire, and the third rocket landed in a kibbutz south of Sderot.

The Color Red alert system was activated in Sderot as students were taking their matriculation exam in English. Terrified parents called the schools in fear that a rocket may have hit an education institution.

On Monday afternoon, an Israeli airstrike targeted the car of a rocket cell in the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahiya on Monday, killing four senior members of the Islamic Jihad terror group.

The army said helicopters fired missiles at a car carrying terrorists, adding that between 40 to 50 terrorists have been killed in the recent operations.

On Monday morning, three rockets were fired towards Israel. Two rockets landed near a kibbutz in the western Negev and the third exploded south of Ashkelon.

Despite the tense security situation, Sderot had decided to hold the English matriculation exam as scheduled. The Municipality claimed that the Home Front Command had told them to have the exams as planned in fortified classrooms. Families who had left town for a break had to return so that their children could sit the exam.

Many of the students and their parents were angry that the exam took place. Oshrit, a student who took the exam, said, "We had asked to take the exam in Be'er Sheva but they made us do it here. They said that the classrooms were fortified, but you can't write a test when there are Qassams flying around. A rocket fell in the middle of another exam we had and caused panic and mayhem."
