Hamas gunman killed in Gaza faction gun battle

Fresh fighting erupted on Saturday between rival Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip, killing a Hamas gunman and wounding 14 other people from both Hamas and the rival Fatah group, hospital officials said.

The Islamist Hamas and secular Fatah groups each accused the other of sparking the gun battle in the southern town of Rafah, and both sides deployed hundreds of gunmen in the streets as the fighting wore on for several hours. (Reuters)
