Gaza violence unprecedented, says former Palestinian minister

The current round of Palestinian infighting in the Gaza Strip has reached unprecedented levels, in terms of intensity, body count, force order and even terminology, said former Minister for Prisoners Affairs Sufian Abu Zaida.

Speaking from Italy, where he is attending a joint Israeli-Palestinian peace conference, Zaida said that if Egypt fails in reaching a ceasefire, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas must appeal for Arab League involvement. (Yael Ivri)
