Women and pants

None

Question:

Is there any rabbi who would permit girls to wear pants?

Answer:

There are unacceptable skirts, and there are “kosher” pants. Modest women’s pants are, in fact, permitted.

Nevertheless, clothing also serves as a social indicator; in many places, wearing pants is associated with nonobservance of the mitzvot (Torah commandments). Moreover, upon occasion, wearing pants can lead to religious backsliding.

Therefore, you must check if pants are appropriate for your specific location and social circle. While pants may be fine in a small place – such as an Orthodox settlement – they are far more problematic in a city.
