Yedioth Ahronoth reports actress Angelina Jolie to visit Holy Land with partner Brad Pitt. Pop queen Madonna plans to arrive with family for Jewish New Year
Brat Pitt and Angelina Jolie wish to visit Israel,
and told Israel's UN Ambassador Danny Gillerman that they may even do so in the near future.
The three met on Wednesday at the world premiere of Jolie's latest movie, 'A mighty heart', in Manhattan.
The movie gives a detailed account of the story of American Jewish reporter Daniel Pearl, who was kidnapped by terrorists and ultimately beheaded in Pakistan in 2002.
After the screening, Jolie, who plays Mariane Pearl, the Wall Street Journal reporter's widow, told Gillerman that this was the role of her lifetime.
The Israeli ambassador, who was the guest of honor at the premiere, invited Jolie and her partner Brad Pitt to visit Israel and see what terror looks like with their own eyes. The couple responded positively.
While Angelina and Brad sort out their upcoming travel plans, pop icon Madonna has already made plans to visit the Holy Land this September, Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported on Thursday.
The star will be arriving in Israel at Rosh Hashana, as part of an envoy of 1,500 members of the Kabbalah Center, and will be staying at the David Intercontinental Hotel in Tel Aviv.
Madonna's husband, director Guy Ritchie, and their three children, will be joining the star.
The family will take part in the center's Rosh Hashana festivities and take trips across the country.
The Kabbalah Center's News York office confirmed that a group will be spending the Jewish New Year in Israel, but refused to comment on Madonna's plans.
Madonna's spokeswoman did not respond to the rumors.
