Israel to help Palestinian emergency government – Olmert
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert talked with Jordan's King Abdullah as he arrived in Washington, and updated him on Israel's intentions to cooperate with the Palestinian emergency government and provide financial assistance.
The two agreed to continue discussing the issue upon Olmert's return to Israel. The prime minister's office has stated that King Abdallah assured that Jordan would help Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and his newly appointed emergency government. (Ronny Sofer, Washington)
