Israeli ex-minister heads Kazakh National Innovation Fund
Kazakhstan embassy reports former Israeli Minister of Science and Technology Eliezer Sandberg appointed chairman of National Innovation Fund, which recently invested $5 million in Israeli project
Eliezer Sandberg, former minister of science and technology of the State of Israel, has been appointed the Chairman of the Board of the National Innovation Fund of Kazakhstan, a statement from the Kazakhstan embassy in Israel said on Monday.
The National Innovation Fund is a subsidiary of the country's Fund for Sustainable Development "Kazyna" with the capitalization exceeding 1 billion dollars.
The National Innovations Fund is actively cooperating with the Israeli corporations, venture funds and research centers.
According to the statement, the Fund recently invested its first $5 million into the Israeli "Vertex III" venture financing project.
At present time the Fund is establishing a representative office in Israel to attract new innovative projects, especially in the field of IT, space exploration, agriculture, nanotechnologies, biotech and others.
