Renovation of UN headquarters is at least $148 million over budget
The $1.9 billion renovation of the UN's headquarters overlooking New York's East River is at least $148 million over budget - and that is before any work on the landmark building has begun, the UN Board of Auditors said in a new report.
A report by the Board of Auditors obtained Thursday said implementation of the plan to renovate UN headquarters ''has been delayed by about a year.'' ''The board is concerned with the financial implications resulting from the delays in implementing the project,'' the report said. (AP)
