A funky and surprising two-day international festival of Jewish music will be held in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem this week, hosting some of the most original musicians of the genre.
Colorful Russian singer Psoy Korolenko, German cabaret artist Daniel Kahn, British DJ Lemez Lovas of Oi Va Voi, and two groovy Israeli bands – Trio Carpion and Oy Division, will meet for a crazy music marathon at Beit Avi Chai in Jerusalem on Wednesday, July 25, and at the Tel Aviv music club Levontin 7 on Thursday, July 26.

The organizers promise a jubilating combination of klezmer music, pre-World War II eastern European music, Jewish funk and electronic music and varied repertoires in Yiddish, Russian, German, English, French and, of course, Hebrew.
This celebration of Jewish culture, which aims to breathe new life into the Ashkenazi heritage, is a joint project of Beit Avi Chai, a Jewish cultural center in Jerusalem, and Levontin 7, one of the most dynamic and prominent music venues in Tel Aviv.
