Israel protests to UN on Qassams

Deputy Israeli Ambassador to the UN Daniel Carmon filed a harsh complaint with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and the UN Security Council following the bombardment of Sderot.
In the formal announcement Carmon wrote that Israel views the fact that the Qassams landed near a day-care center and elementary school with great severity as the terrorists clearly intended to harm as many people as possible with the commencement of the school year. Carmon added that Israel retains the right to defend its citizens and ensure their safety. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
