IDF: Islamic Jihad cell planned to kidnap soldier
The terror attack thwarted by the IDF Thursday near an army base at the Kissufim Crossing was an Islamic Jihad plan to kidnap an Israeli soldier, a military investigation has discovered.
The terrorists, who reached the area in two vehicles, apparently planned to open fire on the army base, kidnap a soldier and escape into Gaza. The IDF thwarted the attack and the six cell members were killed. (Hanan Greenberg)
