IAI –most interesting Israeli company

Dun & Bradstreet study shows Israel Aerospace Industries leading on list of world's most interesting Israeli companies

The Israel Aerospace Industries ranked first place in 2007 on a list of the business world's most interesting Israeli companies, a Dun & Bradstreet study showed.

The results of the study were based on the companies' data relative to the level of interest overseas businesses expressed in each company on the Israeli market.

D&B economists pointed out that the IAI was of interest to foreign investors due to the many deals the company has carried out abroad.

Teva Pharmaceuticals made second place this year and B&D reported it was no surprise that the company was the focal point of much interest over the past few years, as it was the leading and most prominent candidate for the acquisition of Merck generics, but finally decided to give it up to American company Mylen Pharmaceuticals.

Coming in third was Toam Import & Export, which is the import and export wing of some 190 kibbutzim that are members of the Kibbutz Movement.

Defense industry company Elbit Systems took fourth place, following its involvement in major deals, the results of which were seen in a great leap in the company's stock.

Ranking fifth place on D&B's list was ECI Telecom due to the many deals it made overseas in the past year.

The D&B report stated that most business report requests for Israeli companies were filed from the United States.

The US was followed by Britain and Germany respectively in the amount of interest expressed in Israeli businesses.
