A Qassam rocket fired from the Gaza Strip hit a house in the Shaar Hanegev Kibbutz on Wednesday, causing no injuries.
The attack came hours after nine Palestinians were killed by the IDF in two separate incidents.
The Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack.
About 20 rockets and mortar shells were fired towards Israel on Wednesday, but only 10 made it across the border. The remainder fell in the Gaza Strip.
Five members of a terror group were killed in an airstrike that targeted a jeep in Gaza City on Wednesday.
The Palestinians said the five were members of the Army of Islam, a small group linked to the kidnappings of Corporal Gilad Shalit and BBC Journalist Alan Johnston.
